Now you probably noticed the LG branding at the end. This is the kind of Viral I like. It’s got over 2 mil views and the branding was just enough to stop jackasses deliberating over what it was trying to sell. It’s clear enough that you could probably air it between The Simpsons on a Tuesday night.

Reasons why I “waste” time

I just came back from the toilet and I’ve been hit with the very thing I’ve been waiting for these past few weeks. I’ve been working away at a steady pace but I’ve slowed down my usual flow because something kept bothering me and I wasn’t sure what it was. That is one of the most annoying things that could happen to you creatively because it stops you from doing what you’re supposed to be doing and you won’t be able to function normally until you figure it out.

A typical day would have included me writing for a few minutes then procrastinating for 3 hours, and sometimes 8 hours. I would lose whole days to this. It really fuckin’ annoyed the turd out of me. I was falling behind work but there was not a damn bitch I could do about it. My brain tells me to “waste” time so what the heck, I waste time. Just the other night I found myself staying up ’till 6am watching these Super Nintendo geeks make funny to their even geekier followers on YouTube.. it was painful.

But tonight, just intime for 12am… hmm I’m hearing fireworks? NY was a week ago, jackass. Anyway, I came up with the perfect idea. Unfortunately I can’t tell you what it is. But it’s not everyday or year I get this feeling. I’ve measured it all up and all boxes checked out. Pretty excited. When it’s at a point where its worth mentioning, i’ll let ya’ll know what its all about.

Peace.

Easiest way to record and share your screen – Screenr

I have just come across Screenr, an instant screencast program that is web based. All you have to do is hit record, it will capture everything on your screen as well as your voice. You then share the link. Boom!

I really dig this because it allows you to send visual instructions to anyone on the fly. Of course, you can do this with Skype, but what if you can’t organise a time to Skype? You can just quickly record your instructions with Screenr, email them the link and carry on with your day. To me, its a productivity tool I will use with my clients and contractors.

A lot of the people I deal with are in various parts of the world in time zones that a lot would find near to impossible to collaborate. We do use some team project management tools to keep the work flow smooth, and Screenr is definitely a part of my arsenal now. Check out the video below, hope you guys see the productivity potential with this one.

How to have fun in a Hotel Room

When I was in my early 20s, I was lucky enough to land a job that allowed me to see the world. I travelled and partied hard at every destination possible and I would still make it to my returning flights on time. These days, it is not the case. I just don’t/can’t find the energy and besides… my wife would kill me. I still travel for work and find myself at nights sitting in the hotel room feeling sorry for myself because I just don’t have the vigor that I once had. Until I smacked myself with a little perspective and realized that I get to stay at hotels for free… and get paid for it! I am sure there are many of you out there who are on the same boat. Well I have compiled a comprehensive list of things you can do to make time fly and it doesn’t involve porn or hookers.

Remember, this is designed for men (and women) who are married and/or just don’t have the energy anymore to go out and hit the town. If we had energy we could simply answer this question with one answer: Chuck a party in the hotel room.

1. Ride the luggage cart.

2. Don’t get caught riding the luggage cart.
